The museum was founded in 1977. Its two large halls house a broad collection of 100 buses and other vehicles from all parts of the Midlands. Particularly significant is the range of buses operated by the old Midland Red Company, many designed and built by itself. Also the largest collection of restored battery electric vehicles in the world. On event days families will enjoy the delightful miniature steam railway and rides on classic buses. At other times see the volunteers restoring the collections.
