Worcestershires largest Parish Church. The Church was first established cica 1167, much of existing building is 16thC. There is much beautiful stained glass, tombs and a fine brass memorial to Sir John and Sir Walter Cokesey (and their wife Matilda!). The organ is a refurbished instrument with mainly hill pipework. The Tower has a fine peal of 12 bells. It is also where for twenty years the great puritan divine, Richard Baxter, based his historic ministry amidst the chaos of the Civil War and its aftermath. Every Year large numbers of visitors come from all over the world to visit the church where "Baxter of Kidderminster" served. A warm welcome is extended to them by the Vicar, the ministry team and members of the congregation. It is intended that this site will help people to learn more about Richard Baxter and St. Mary's, and to plan visits to the church.
